What is All-on-X (All-on-4 or All-on-6) and who is it for?

All-on-X is the generic name for the procedures through which an entire arch of teeth is rebuilt on a fixed number of implants: four for All-on-4, six for All-on-6. Instead of replacing each tooth with its own implant, the doctor fixes a complete prosthetic work on implants strategically inserted into the bone. What All-on-4 and All-on-6 mean

With All-on-4, the arch rests on four implants: two vertical in the front area and two tilted in the back, positioned to avoid the areas with reduced bone volume. With All-on-6, six implants are evenly distributed across the arch, an option recommended when bone volume allows it or when the final work needs additional support.

In both cases, the result is a fixed set of teeth: the work does not come out at night, uses no adhesive and is maintained through daily hygiene and periodic check-ups, like natural teeth.

How the treatment unfolds, stage by stage

• Consultation and planning: clinical evaluation, CT investigation and a treatment plan with the total cost in writing;
• The procedure: the necessary extractions and the implant placement, under local or general anaesthesia, depending on the case;
• The fixed provisional work: fitted in the period immediately after the procedure, when implant stability allows it;
• Osseointegration: 4 to 6 months in which the implants bond with the bone, with scheduled check-ups;
• The final work: made of zirconia, ceramic or combined materials, fitted at the end of the healing period.

Who the treatment suits

All-on-X is designed for patients who have lost most of the teeth on an arch, wear a removable denture they no longer get along with, or have teeth compromised by gum disease or advanced decay.
